Sir Winston was the Prime Minister of the Uk(United Kingdom) from 1940 to 1945, when Churchill led Britain to victory in the II World War, and repeatedly from 1951 to 1955. He represented five supporters during his profession as a Member of Parliament (MP).

Ideologically an economic reformer and imperialist, for most of his career he was a part of the Conservative Party, which Churchill directed from 1940 to 1955, but from 1904 to 1924 was a part of the Liberal Party.

Of diverse English and American origin, By Joining the British Army, Winston noticed action in British India and the Anglo–Sudan War, and the Second Boer War, getting fame as a war writer and writing books about his operations. Chosen an MP in 1900, initially as a traditionalist, flee to the Liberals in 1904. In H. H. Asquith’s Liberal government, he worked as President of the Board of Trade, Home Secretary, and First Lord of the Admiralty, championing jail betterment and workers’ social protection.

Starting in the First World War, he oversaw the Gallipoli Campaign; after it proved a disaster, he resigned from the government and worked in the Royal Scots Fusiliers on the Western Front. In 1917, Winston returned to government below David Lloyd George as Minister of Munitions, later as Secretary of State for War & Air, and lastly for the Colonies, overseeing the Anglo-Irish Treaty and Britain’s Middle East strategy.

After 2 years out of Parliament, he worked as Chancellor of the Exchequer in Stanley Baldwin’s Stable government, returning the pound sterling in 1925 to the 24-carat gold standard at its pre-war parity, a move is broadly seen as producing deflationary pressure on the United Kingdom economy. Out of office during in the 1930s, Churchill took the lead in asking for British rearmament to counter the expanding threat from Nazi Germany.

At the eruption of the Second World War, Churchill was re-appointed First Lord of the Admiralty. In 1940 he became the prime minister, replacing Neville Chamberlain. He oversaw British engagement in the Allied war effort against Germany and the Axis powers, resulting in success in 1945.

His wartime leadership was widely appreciated, although acts like the Bombing of Dresden and his wartime response to the Bengal famine generated controversy. After the Conservatives’ loss in the 1945 general election, he became Leader of the Opposition. Among the developing Cold War with the Soviet Union, he openly warned of an “iron curtain” of Soviet influence in Europe and favored European unity.

Re-elected Prime Minister in 1951, his 2nd term was preoccupied with international affairs, including the Mau Mau Uprising, Malayan Emergency, Korean War, and a UK-backed Iranian revolution. Domestically his ministry emphasized house-building and developed a nuclear weapon. In failing health, He leaves as prime minister in 1955, although he continued an MP until 1964. In his death in 1965, he was given a state burial.

Broadly considered one of the 20th century’s most influential figures, he remains famous in the UK and Western world, where he is viewed as a victorious wartime leader who played a vital role in defending Europe’s liberal republic from the spread of fascism. Also applaud as a social reformer and writer, among his many prizes was the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Conversely, his imperialist scenes and comments on race, as well as his sanctioning of humanistic rights violations in the suppression of anti-imperialist movements seeking freedom from the British Empire, have generated considerable discussion.
